Aarhus-based pop star Medina was the big winner at the Danish Music Awards 2010 yesterday. The award ceremony was held in Copenhagen nightclub Bremen, and was attended by some of the biggest names in Danish music.

Amongst others, Medina took the prizes for Best Danish Album, Best Danish Female Artist and New Danish Name of the Year. Pop quartet Alphabeat won Best Band and Best Danish Male Artist went to Rasmus Seebach.

The awards show, being held for the first time since February 2009, and were hosted by Søren Rasted from Aqua.

The initiative was a collaboration between IFPI (an organisation representing the recording industry worldwide), JazzDanmark, World Music Denmark and the Danish Folk Council.
