The Public Prosecutor for Serious Economic Crimes will seek a record 12 year sentence for self-confessed fraudster Stein Bagger when court proceedings begin next week.
Bagger, who was head of computer leasing company IT Factory, has admitted to defrauding companies of 831 million kroner.
The normal maximum sentence in cases of fraud is eight years, but prosecutor Per Justesen said given the aggravated nature of the case he would seek to have Bagger convicted for aggravated fraud.
Bagger faces 61 charges of forgery, including contracts that duped accounting firm KPMG.
