An e-mail informing customers of the former Tiscali internet service provider that their accounts will be closed unless they submit their usernames and passwords is a fraud.

Cybercity, which overtook Tiscali accounts as part of its acquisition of the Tele2 internet service provider, confirmed that it had not sent the e-mail, which was written in English, and that it has no plans to close Tiscali accounts.

The company recommends that the e-mail be deleted.
