Grønkjær scores in League Cup
The Super League's top three football teams meet for a mini-tournament that forecasts another close contest for the coming championship
A sneak preview of the coming football season found Brøndby edging out FCK and Viborg in the League Cup on Sunday.
The Cup pits the three top teams from last season in three matches lasting a single half.
While Brøndby and Viborg tied at 1-1, FCK managed to come from behind and win 2-1 over Viborg.
FCK's new purchase, Jesper Grønkjær who returns home after several years in the Premier League, Spanish Liga and Germany's Bundesliga, managed to score his first goal for the blue and white Lions.
Cross-town rival Brøndby demonstrated in its contest with FCK, however, that it would not cede the championship again this year without a fight. The two teams went scoreless for much of their match, but a last-minute goal from Morten 'Duncan' Rasmussen gave Brøndby the Cup title.
