Petrol prices will see their highest single-day increase in almost two years today when oil companies raise their prices by 23 øre.
According to Statoil analyst Peter Rasmussen, the main cause in the increased crude oil prices is a greater demand from China and a surprisingly low level for US oil deposits.
With today’s increase, a litre of 95 octane unleaded petrol will cost 11.25 kroner at Statoil and 11.18 kroner at OK Benzin’s self-service stations.Diesel prices will increase by 19 øre, reaching 10.02 kroner per litre at Statoil.
The price of 95 octane petrol reached its highest level this year in April, when it hit 11.39 kroner per litre. The all-time high of 11.88 per litre was set in July 2008.
