Secondary school graduates – typically aged 18-19 years old – will flood the streets in celebration over the next couple of weeks, as statistics from the Education Ministry show that 2010 will probably see more students than ever get their diplomas, reports Urban newspaper.
An expected 35,000 young people will don their graduation caps and take part in traditional celebrations that include riding on the back of a corralled flatbed truck to students’ homes.
Ministry figures show the numbers will be the highest ever and will surpass the present record, set in 2006, by over 4,300.
