Dane comes home to millions
It took a winning ticket holder two months to contact the Danish Lottery Association
Danish lottery players no longer have to worry that they've misplaced their winning lottery ticket. After laying unclaimed for nearly two months, the DKK 22 million prize for the Joker game - an additional play on the regular Lotto ticket which costs 10 kroner extra - was finally claimed by the lucky person. According to Berlinske Tidende, the windfall is the second largest in Denmark's history.
The ticket was purchased in Holbæk on 2 July. The winner, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed to be on holiday and only first checked the ticket upon returning to Denmark.
