Danish soldier wounded in Afghanistan
The army announced that a Danish soldier was struck by enemy fire in Afghanistan
Enemy fire seriously injured a Danish soldier based in Musa Qala in Afghanistan early Wednesday morning.
The soldier, part of a battalion stationed at the Almegård Base on the island of Bornholm, was evacuated to hospital in Kandahar, according to Lt. Col. Hans Vedholm of Defence Command Denmark.
The Defence Command provided little additional information out of concern for soldiers' safety, reported TV2 Bornholm.
Attacks on Danish positions have become daily fare since additional forces were deployed on 26 July.
Denmark currently has 360 troops stationed in Afghanistan.
