US Embassy reacts to suspicious letters
Two suspicious letters sent to the American Embassy set police into action late this morning, several hours in advance of President Bush's visit
The US Embassy received two envelopes that employees felt were so out of the ordinary that they called the police, reports Jyllands-Posten. After inspection by military experts, the letters were found to be harmless, and the alarm was called off.
Upon being notified of the suspicious letters, Copenhagen Police decided to barricade Dag Hammarskjölds Allé, the boulevard running past the embassy, for half an hour until defence arms experts could inspect the letters. The letters were found to be harmless.
